Kristen Brown is a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with a robust background in healthcare spanning nearly two decades. Starting her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in 2006, Kristen spent seven years in that role before advancing to Registered Nurse (RN) in 2013. She furthered her expertise by obtaining her PMHNP in 2022 and is currently pursuing her certification in integrative psychiatry, enhancing her ability to provide holistic mental health care.
Throughout her career, Kristen has worked in various settings, including long-term care, the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), neurology, orthopedics, and medical-surgical nursing. Her diverse experience equips her with a holistic understanding of patient care, enabling her to approach mental health treatment with compassion and expertise.
Kristen is particularly passionate about holistic health and Ayurveda, having studied the ancient practice rigorously. As a certified Ayurvedic Health Coach, she incorporates these principles into her patient care, promoting overall wellness alongside traditional psychiatric treatment. Her dedication to leadership and excellence was recognized with the Dean’s Leadership Award during her studies.
She holds an Associate Degree in Nursing from Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, and a Master of Science in Nursing from Southern Adventist University.
Outside of her professional life, Kristen enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, paddleboarding, and sailing. She is also passionate about yoga, meditation, and spiritual study, believing in the profound connection between mental well-being and a balanced lifestyle.
Kristen is excited to join the Head Well clinic, where she looks forward to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care to her clients.
