JULIE LEISTER, PMHNP-BC

Julie Leister is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with more than three decades of nursing experience. Her career began in 1990 as a Certified Nursing Assistant, followed by licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1996 and a Registered Nurse in 1999. Over the years, she has cultivated a deep understanding of patient care through diverse clinical experiences, including serving as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner–Adult (SANE-A) in the emergency department and spending a decade in critical care settings such as CVICU, trauma ICU, and transplant ICU.

 

In 2019, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and went on to earn her Master of Science in Nursing in 2021, specializing in psychiatric mental health. Her approach to care is grounded in trauma-focused and empathetic principles, emphasizing safety, understanding, and healing for each individual she serves.

Since relocating to Oregon in 2021, she has provided compassionate psychiatric care to both children and adults, integrating her extensive medical background with her commitment to mental wellness. Outside of her professional life, she is married and a proud mother of three grown children and nine grandchildren, which enriches her empathetic perspective and family entered approach to care.
